Welcome Brandon……

 

Greetings from a very sunny and warm Camp New Hope!

Meet Brandon age 14 from Richlands, NC. Brandon has Battens Disease a non treatable, non curable neurological disease that is unfortunately always fatal. Brandon is now blind which is one of the side effects of this disease. Today Brandon visited a local art studio, Big Ivy and he really enjoyed making something special with his hands to take home at the end of the week. Tomorrow we plan to take him on a hay ride and then canoeing later on this week. Brandon is so full of himself, is very well mannered and has a great BIG smile that just melts your heart. Brandon is here with his family and we are so excited about his time here with us. Hope you enjoy the attached pictures.

Welcome Noah to Camp New Hope

 

Greetings from Camp New Hope! Meet Noah our guest this week.  Noah is 4 and has a
primary diagnosis of mitochondrial encephalomyopathy.  He is in a wheelchair much of the time and has some uncontrolled pain issues, has cardiomyopathy,chronic anemia and often has serious infections.  Noah is in intestinal failure and receives his nutrition via TPN through a
central line in his chest.  He has a g-tube that is set to drain 24 hours a day.  Noah has a wonderful smile and last night he caught his first fish and enjoyed a bonfire.  This morning Noah went to Big Ivy Art Studio with his family and had a great time. 

Noah brings with him 7 siblings, Hannah (17) William (16) Matthew (14) Timothy (12) David (10) Sarah (8) Mary Faith (3) and mom and dad.
Needless to say there are plenty of smiles at the camp this week.  Lots of laughter and love!

Please help us pray for this family and for the camp this year.  We can not thank you enough for your continued support and prayers.  A HUGE "thank you" to Will and Mark for making the camp possible.
