Greetings from Camp New Hope! What crazy weather we have all be having… a tornado touched down just across the top of the property last week and took the roof off of a house on Hwy 16, because we are surrounded by mountains we were not even aware of what was happening. Thank God for his protection. Guess we need to get a weather radio………..
Meet Alana age 5 who is our guest this week. She comes to us this week with her family all the way from Eufaula, Alabama. Alana is pretty tired today after the long drive. Grandpa and a cousin are fishing this morning and we hope they catch “the big one”. Actually the fish have been biting so the last few families have caught quite a few. Alana has congenital encephacopathy, cerebral palsy and asthma, she is unable to speak but she does know how to make her wishes known. She is also unable to walk but loves riding in the Kubota. She also loves to listen to music.
Yesterday when we were checking the family in I was about to show them the renovations on the bedroom so Alana will be able to stay in the same room with them. As I was about to enter the room I saw something out of the corner of my eye as I looked down I saw a black snake that was over 3 ft long. Sure was glad Grandmother was not afraid of snakes. I quickly called in the “snake busters” and it was gently removed and placed back outside. Must have gotten in when the family was leaving Friday. They will scoot right in if given the opportunity. Well that was our excitement for a normally quite Fathers Day.
I would like to thank each and everyone of you for your prayers and support. Without your continued kindness and support this camp would not be possible.
May God bless you beyond your imagination.
