Greetings from a chilly Camp New Hope! We woke up this morning to a beautiful but chilly 45 degrees!!!!!
Meet Ashton age 6, Ashton has been diagnosed with Miller-Dieker syndrome which is a disease characterized by a developmental defect of the brain, caused by incomplete neuronal migration. Children with this disease have multiple abnormalities of the brain, heart, kidney and gastrointestinal tract. Failure to thrive, feeding difficulities, seizures and decreased spontaneous activity are often seen, and death tends to occur in infancy and childhood. Ashton is here this week with his 2 sisters along with mom and dad and 5 other family members. He loves riding in the Kobuta and goes to sleep while riding on the trails. We are excited about having him here and know he is going to continue to have a great time while he is here with us.
Thank you for all you do for the camp, please keep this family in your prayers. Ashton is one of the children that would benefit greatly from our plans for the new addition as well as the completion of the other projects.
